Type Bloc Display
Type Bloc Display
Overview: Type Bloc Display is a modular, regular-weight typeface developed during my MA studies as part of a broader exploration into the value of modularity in type design. Inspired by the work of Modernist designers such as Jurriaan Schrofer and Josef Albers, the font is built from component pieces that form a consistent visual system. Concept: The design draws from the playful nature of modular block toys, aiming to balance structure and creativity. Each letterform reflects the flexibility of modular design, demonstrating how repeated forms can create dynamic and engaging typography. Development: Currently in progress, Type Bloc will expand into a full glyph set and evolve into a variable typeface with multiple weights, further showcasing its adaptability and system-based design approach.
