Project Overview: This project involved the development of a typography-led identity system for the MA Visual Communication course at the University of Portsmouth. Rather than designing a static mark, the identity was conceived as a flexible typographic framework capable of generating varied visual outcomes. Starting from a custom logotype, the project expanded into a full glyph set and working typeface, transforming the identity into a functional system that could operate across multiple forms of communication. Several letterforms originated during my MA Major Project and were further refined and developed for this opportunity, allowing research-led exploration to evolve into applied identity design. The result is a system-based identity that demonstrates how typography can function as both brand and tool, enabling adaptability, consistency, and visual cohesion.
