Overview: This project for HKC Vodka Bar focused on developing a compelling visual identity for their new vodka range. My goal was to create a dynamic and immersive experience using kinetic typography, distorted type, and a strong, cohesive visual language. These design assets were implemented across the nightclub, appearing as on-screen graphics, posters, and large-scale vinyl wall wraps. Concept: The core concept revolved around creating a dynamic and experiential visual identity that would resonate with the nightclub environment. This involved harnessing the power of motion design and experimental typography to evoke a sense of energy and immersion. The idea was to visually represent the distinct nature of the vodka range through a bold and engaging aesthetic, allowing for creative freedom while still producing integral elements of the club’s overarching visual identity. Development: My process involved exploring various techniques to achieve the desired kinetic and distorted typographic effects. I focused on developing a system that would be both visually striking and adaptable across different mediums within the club. This included iterating on different typographic styles, experimenting with animation principles for screen graphics, and ensuring the designs translated effectively to large-scale print formats like posters and wall wraps. Particular attention was given to the transformation of “The Lantern” space into an immersive visual environment, which significantly boosted the brand’s impact. Outcome: The final outcome delivered a cohesive and impactful visual identity for HKC Vodka Bar's new range. The strategic deployment of kinetic typography and distorted type across various nightclub assets successfully created a dynamic and immersive brand experience. This project not only enhanced the brand's presence but also showcased the power of motion design and experimental typography in creating engaging and memorable visual identities within a vibrant club setting.
